As you know I have a big love for all sides of filmmaking. The only way for me to get better in producing is to truly work through all sides of production. I am so happy to announce I will be working with Casting Directors Lisa Essary and Ranjiv Perera on the new feature film by the writer and director, brother duo, Brett and Drew T.
I love acting, and its the one thing I do that I really feel like I can express my vulnerability and that I do not feel like I have full control over. Growing up with all four parents as entrepreneurs, I feel like that is and what has always come the easiest to me; being a boss ass business woman. Acting, however, I had to start completely from the bottom, have felt like I don't always have the right answers and its the one place that I get to be completely honest and present in. And being able to balance the two can be a real tug of war sometimes being so OCD and a perfectionist in business, can get you far. But for an actor, it can kill you. HOWEVER! Luckily for me, I went 5 years of business school and have 2 Bachelors with experience in communications AND won both business competitions in school. I am a boss under cover as an actor. Funny how that works. Now being able to also see behind the curtain, my eyes are opened to to secrets of the secret magical gate keeper society that Webster would classify as casting directors. Here are all the secrets and tricks I have learned in my time as a casting director:
